Our tour operator, Roatan Chater, is offering participants a second week extension at the wonderful Compass Point Dive Resort on the East End of Grand Cayman from October 3 -10, 2025 similar to the extension to Blackbird Caye Resort on the FWSA 2025 Belize Dive Trip. Compass Point Dive Resort was the winner of the 2025 Scuba Diving Magazine Resort of the Year for the Caribbean region and Ocean Frontiers, the dive operator, won the 2025 Dive Operator of the Year for the Caribbean region.
East End diving is very different from the Seven Mile Beach or North Sound dives. The wall dives in this area are characterized by their shallow starting depths of 40 to 60 feet and the vertical sheer drop offs. Visibility can reach up to 150 feet with outcroppings on the edge of the drop off, attracting lots of marine life. The shallow reefs offer wide open expanses of coral fingers covered in healthy coral colonies, sponges and small fish life. The topography is unique to the East End of Grand Cayman with shallow reef cavern structures resembling giant swiss cheese. The shallow reefs and caverns are full of marine life and feature many canyon-ways and chutes that lead out on to the drop-off. You will usually see Caribbean Reef sharks, large groupers, turtles, moray eels, and countless tropical reef fish!
Randy Lew says: The East End of Grand Cayman is one of my favorite places to dive. I have been diving with Ocean Frontiers since the late 1990’s and I spent a week at Compass Point after the FWSA 2023 Little Cayman Dive Trip.
