Ski ALS

Since its inception in 2012, ALS Northwest’s annual Ski ALS event at Mt. Hood Meadows has raised nearly $2 million to support individuals affected by ALS in Oregon and Southwest Washington. As a vital resource hub, ALS Northwest provides comprehensive services, support, and education to those living with ALS, alongside their families, friends, caregivers, and healthcare professionals across the region.

Dedicated to addressing each individual’s unique needs, ALS Northwest offers a wide range of essential programs. These include personalized consultations to assess needs, a medical equipment loan program, financial assistance grants, an alternative communication and assistive technology program, and a caregiver support program. ALS Northwest also offers specialized resources for children and facilitates monthly support groups, and partners closely ALS multidisciplinary clinics. ALS Northwest connects patients, care providers and families with a network of volunteers and mentors to create a strong community of care. Additionally, understanding that the journey with ALS extends beyond the loss of a loved one, the organization provides bereavement support to families navigating grief. All of above is offered, completely free of charge, to those living with ALS and their loved ones.

ALS Northwest has a deep commitment to funding critical research which is aimed at developing new treatments and ultimately finding a cure for ALS. In the last few years alone, ALS Northwest has committed over $2.7 million to research.
