Oregon Nordic Club - Portland Chapter
P.O. Box 3906, Portland, OR 97208
The Oregon Nordic Club encourages and promotes Nordic and other outdoor activities throughout Oregon. It has chapters throughout the state; the Portland Chapter was founded in 1968. Dues are $30 for a single or $40 for a family. Club activities include overnight ski trips, day ski tours, and, in the off-season, bicycling, hiking, and trail tending.
We hold a monthly meeting the second Tuesday of each month from Sept. through May at the Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland. We begin with a potluck and social time at 6:30 pm (bring a dish to share), club announcements around 7:15 pm, and followed with a program related to Nordic (cross-country) skiing or other outdoor adventures appealing to guests and club members. Meetings are free, and non-members are welcome!
The club works with the Forest Service to develop new cross-country trails, and maintains existing trails in Northern Oregon and Southern Washington. The Portland Chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club manages the Tilly Jane A-Frame and Guard Station Cabins, under an agreement with the Forest Service.
