Mt. Hood Ski Patrol

P.O. Box 4384, Portland, Oregon 97208

Founded in 1937, Mt. Hood Ski Patrol is one of the oldest and largest volunteer ski patrols in the nation. Our members provide first aid and rescue at Mt. Hood Meadows, Mt. Hood Skibowl, Summit Ski Area, Timberline Lodge, and Teacup Lake nordic area. There are many ways to participate: Hill Patroller, Associate Patroller, Nordic Patroller, or as a Mountain Host. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities can find an opportunity to give something back to the mountain. Contact us through our website to find out more about joining. Patroller tryouts are held in the spring followed by a one year apprenticeship that covers all the training you will need. Mountain Host applications are accepted in the summer; interviews are scheduled in September prior to pre-season training in October. We are supported by tax-deductible donations from the mountain community and our membership dues.
