Ski & Ride for a Cure - Cancer Benefit - Mt. Hood Skibowl

  • Mt. Hood Skibowl 87000 U.S. 26 Government Camp, OR, 97028 United States (map)

Ski & Ride for a Cure will be held March 2 & 3, 2024, at Mt. Hood Skibowl.

This almost-24 hour event is all about banding together with those closest to you to help raise money and awareness for cancer and how it affects our lives. Participation is encouraged as a team or individual, with prizes for top fundraisers; and raffle tickets available for purchase.  Additional prizes are given for poker runs and other fun on-mountain activities. Skiing/riding is from 9 am until 10 pm Saturday, with an overnight break and ski movies in the lodge; picking up again from 5 am to 9 am Sunday in the Lower Bowl.  Included is a hot dinner for participants on Saturday and a fresh breakfast offered for 5 am sunrise laps on the mountain Sunday morning.

This year's Torchlight Parade Grand Marshall is a former board member, a former employee of Ski and Ride, and a frequent participant and fan favorite, Devin (the Tiger) who was diagnosed with an rare form of cancer shortly after last year's event.

This year our goal is to raise $50,000 to help directly fund services in the local Oregon community through the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation and the Seeds of Hope "See Ya Later" Foundation. Last year's funds directly helped alleviate the burden shared by over 30 different families, by helping with treatment costs and transportation, and ensuring the entire family is taken care of during some of the hardest challenges they will face.
