Mt. Hood Skikats

704 SW Canby St., Portland, OR 97219

This laid-back club started in 1970 with a most congenial group of students in a skiing class. Skiers being fun people, and since skiing with such people is ten times the fun of skiing alone, this attracted more congenial members. More than 40 years later, the Skikats club is still populated with enjoyable skiers, who ski together and also bike, dance, hike, enjoy beach and camping trips, kayak and canoe, party, and go on destination trips to ski areas. Basically, they delight in the companionship of fellow skiers! While new and younger members are attracted by the congeniality, many of the original members, some in their 70’s and 80’s, still ski actively! hat skiers tend to live a long, active and happy life is well understood. Our founder, Henry Bendinelli, skied over 79 years until he passed away in October 2015 at the age of 91--still skiing!. His passion was skiing and his philosophy for a long and happy life follows: “Of great importance is enjoyable exercise. Most important of all is being amongst a large group of active and enjoyable friends, such as an active ski club.”  Join the Mt. Hood SkiKats and bring some sunshine into your long and happy life.  We hold no formal meetings! Annual dues are $15 per family.
